  • Amateur one-day eventer aiming at BE Novice Level
  • Based in Berkshire

  • Der Wellbeloved (Charlie)

Eva has been training with me since she got Charlie in late 2010. She primarily events under British Eventing and during the winter, she goes show jumping and hunts with the Berks & Buck Draghounds and the Kimblewick Hunt.

My main focus with this combination was always just to improve Charlie’s going for the eventing, but with the improvements, Eva joined British Dressage in the Summer 2013 and started riding dressage competitively as well; recently taking 3rd place at Novice Restricted Winter Regional Championships at Addington.

I love riding and Debbie has made me love and appreciate it even more.

Lessons with Debbie are always hard work, but always enjoyable, and I come away from them buzzing, wanting to ride more and better.

Debbie has made flatwork interesting for me- to the extent that, despite being more for the speed and adrenalin-fueled kind of riding such as show jumping and cross country I have become competitive with British Dressage. With Debbies meticulous and engaged instructions I took part in the Novice Winter Regional Championships and have qualified for the forthcoming Novice Summer Regional Championships 2014.

Debbie is impressively enthusiastic, encouraging and ambitious with all her pupils, irrespective of their level and ambition. She has deep consideration for the horse as an athlete and the attention to detail for both horse and rider is second to none, she is obviously very knowledgeable – it is her sharing and caring that makes her stand out. She is a lovely person to work with and she may make a proper rider of me yet.
